Spicy Potato Soup Usually, we feature a new salsa here, but January is a great soup month, and some of my friends have a little extra deer meat, so here's a great recipe to finish off the fruits of your hunting trip. 1 lb ground beef or deer 4 cups peeled, cubed potato (1/2 inch cubes) 1 small onion, chopped 3 cans tomato sauce 4 cups water 2 tsp salt 1 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 to 1 tsp hot pepper sauce In a large kettle or dutch oven, brown ground beef. Drain. Add potatoes, onion, and tomato sauce. Stir in water, salt, pepper, and hot pepper sauce. Simmer for one hour, or until potatoes are tender, and the soup has thickened. Makes 2 quarts.
